Piazzo Navarro is a project tailored for iON Constructors, L.L.C. It is an inner-city site that is located in the heart of East Austin. The site address is 2601 East 7th Street. “Austin’s East 7th Street is about ready to undergo a major utility upgrade and beautification,” says Jon Smiley, President of iON Constructors. “We’re fortunate and extremely pleased to be a part of one of the first projects to showcase the growth and revitalization of East Austin,” stated Smiley.

Piazza Navarro is a six thousand square foot mixed use building that will contain three efficiency apartments upstairs with three retail / office spaces on the first level. The construction method involves a slab on grade with structural steel first level and wood frame second floor. This encompasses the hybrid construction practices that iON Constructors is known for. “Mixing methods and materials is what we are known for,” says Ray Buck, Lead Project Manager for iON. “It makes our projects interesting and challenging,” stated Buck. The project also fits with iON’s desire to work on urban infill projects instead of projects outside the city that expands urban sprawl.

The project will have a stucco finish with some native stone and steel details. It will be built on a site where two dilapidated structures previously stood. It should be a wonderful addition to the East 7th Street corridor.
