Located at 1601 E. Cesar Chavez St., approximately five blocks east of Interstate 35, Waterstreet Lofts is underway! iON Constructors, L.L.C. is pleased to be the general contractor on one of the early East Austin revitalization projects featuring multi-family, mixed use development that fits the city's vision for our future.

iON Constructors has been involved in pricing and design team consultation for the Waterstreet Lofts project since May of 2005. Jon Smiley, President of iON Constructors believed in the project so much that he decided to invest in the development and became a partner and owner.

"This is just the kind of project we like", says Smiley. "Multi-family with a bit of commercial / retail right in the heart of a rapidly revitalizing area of town. What more could you ask for?"

The project got underway the first week of February. The first units should be ready for occupancy in November of 2006. The building will have a structural red iron skeleton with cast-in-place concrete second and third stories. The exterior will be all masonry and stucco with commercial grade storefront glazing throughout the building's multi-faceted elevations. The interiors are eclectic modern with a hint of industrial flair. The architecture is by Hailey-Johnson Architects of Austin. "Hailey-Johnson is developing quite a reputation for doing projects of this type. We are really enjoying working with their team," stated Smiley.
